On June 13th, 2016 the second part of psychosocial rehabilitation course for medical staff from Dnipro, Poltava, Sumy, Odessa and Kyiv regions started. It should be reminded that the programme was launched jointly by the Ministry of Health care of the Republic of Lithuania and the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipro with the support of Dnipro Regional State Administration. The first part of the programme took place last November with
30 participants from Dnipro and Poltava regions trained privately by Lithuanian experts for 5 days in a leisure and business complex in our region.

According to a preliminary agreement, this year’s training course of the project provides 4 groups of 10 experts (40 people in total) from Poltava, Dnipro, Sumy, Odessa and Kyiv regions with a 5-day business trip to Lithuania. The project will last until May 1st, 2017. The first group who arrived in Lithuania for the training course is a group of administrators (hospital managers and representatives of regional state administrations). Doctors, psychologists and other medicine experts of the sphere are going next. It is assumed that training will cover five areas: psychology, nursing, social work and occupational therapy, which is a new practice in Ukraine.

So, today Vilnius City Mental Health Center, headed by Martynas Marcinkevicius have welcomed a delegation of expert in psychosocial rehabilitation and the group of administrators from the regions of Ukraine mentioned above. The project “Aid for Ukrainian Eastern Regions in reforming the system of mental healthcare and pursuing the reformation of the psychological and social sector” is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.

Administrators are going to train intensively by Lithuanian experts from 13th to 18th, June. Meetings with the Minister of Health care of the Republic of Lithuania Yuras Pozhela, Deputy Mayor of Vilnius Hintautas Palutskas, Director of the Department of Health care Jonas Bartlynhas, and president of the Lithuanian Association of Financial Analysts Eladiyus Kiriyanovas are scheduled.
