March 11, 2015 has been the visit of the Lithuanian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania Andrius Krivas to Dniepropetrovsk. The visit had the purpose of participation of Mr. Krivas in Strategic Discussion Club meeting where the representatives of scientific and diplomats from the European Union discussed the prospects of Ukraine's participation in the North Atlantic Alliance and possible ways to help Ukraine by NATO countries in today's difficult situation as for a strategic partner and a country that geopolitically has been on the verge of confrontation bipolar world.
In addition to participating in the Conference, Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania has provided the meeting of the Lithuanian delegation with the Chief of Staff of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Gennadiy Korban. The sides discussed the situation that faced Dniepropetrovsk as the epicenter of the treatment of the wounded from the ATO area. In this sense, the sides noted the need to help the Dniepropetrovsk region in order to start working the special centers of physiological and psychological rehabilitation. Such assistance the Lithuanian side is ready to provide as the government program by the Ministry of Health of Lithuania. Appreciating the assistance provided by the Republic of Lithuania, the Ukrainian side thanked the partners for the fruitful cooperation.
In the same context, staying a significant number of wounded soldiers (combatants) in Dniepropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after Mechnikov, the Lithuanian delegation had the meetings with the administration of the hospital and talked to the wounded militaries and volunteers. Given the contribution of Lithuania to maintain the capability of Ukrainian army the Head of the hospital named after Mechnykov handed a letter of gratefulness to President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite on behalf of all staff of the Clinical Hospital and patients.
At the end of the visit the Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania Andrius Krivas took part in the regional channel program where was a live debate on the issue that is on of the first place for Ukrainian society today :the choice towards NATO "for" or "against".
