13th, January is a Commemoration Day of those who fought for Lithuania’s freedom, which cost 14 patriots their lives sacrificed on the altar of their Motherland.
We wish Lithuanian Republic endless years of peace and prosperity.
Today Lithuania is an example of the state with a solid position in the world dialogue aimed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the east of Ukraine.Therefore, it was a symbolic meeting of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite with children from Ukrainian class of Vilnius Lithuanian House studying there on the government programme for assistance to families affected by fighting in eastern Ukraine.
During the meeting, the President was interested in school and everyday life of children. In response, they thanked Ms. President on behalf of the country and on behalf of their parents for the opportunity to continue their education in a safe environment, to see the world, to gain new experience and to escape from the bitter memories of war.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania also met with children.
