On September 26-29 of the current year, researchers from Dnipropetrovsk region visited Lithuania Republic, Kaunas. Academicians of the National Mining University, headed by Gennadiy Pivnyak, the rector of the NMU, visited Vytautas Magnus University with a working trip.
This is the third bidirectional meeting which was designed to discuss promising cooperation between the NMU and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). A result of the NMU’s delegation visit was a signed agreement for opening of a joint bachelor programme "World Politics and Economy" on basis of the existing Memorandum of Understanding dated on April 12.
Leadership of the VMU has organized an attendance of such faculties as: Political Science and Diplomacy; Humanities Faculty, Social sciences, natural sciences; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Arts; Academy of Music; Department of Foreign Languages. Such important points as scientific cooperation, publication of scientific works of Ukrainian scientists in VMU journals, joint scientific research and organizational aspects of Bachelor and Master programmes have been discussed during the visit.
Also, a meeting at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Lithuania with the President's chief adviser on Science, Education and Culture took place. The results of Ukrainian delegation visit to the VMU were announced during this meeting and were highly appreciated by the Lithuanian side.
The parties have agreed on signing an agreement for opening a joint master's degree programme “International Business Law” at the National Mining University on November 1, 2016.
With the assistance of Vitaliy Pivnyak, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipro, all the necessary documents for a group of researchers were prepared for a visit to the EU country.
