On February 5, 2015 one ton of medical equipment and products were delivered to Dniepropetrovsk airport by special airplane of the Military of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania as part of an extensive government program of the Republic of Lithuania concerning humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
During the previous visit of the Lithuanian delegation to Dniepropetrovsk (17th of December ) it got acquainted with the urgent needs of the medical institutions in our region and has been received the targeted aid from Lithuanian government. In the airport the plane has been met by Honorary consul Vitaliy Pivnyak, Head of the hospital named after Mechnikov Serhii Rygenko and the representatives of Dniepropetrovsk state region administration. Humanitarian aid consists of the antibiotic “Azithromycin”, plastic containers for blood banking, the portable X-ray machine, the petrol-powered generator and tent for 24 persons was delivered to Dniepropetrovsk region clinical hospital named after Mechnikov and to Dniepropetrovsk military hospital. The total sum of humanitarian aid is almost 43,000 euro.
By the same airplane four soldiers (Motchuk Bogdan, Tretiakov Dmitriy, Volokytin Yevgeniy, Trofimenko Victor) came back home from the treatment and rehabilitation in the Republic of Lithuania where they stayed from January, 9.
In the reverse direction the mission of representatives of the Military of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania took the other three wounded militants, who have been treated at the Dniepropetrovsk region clinical hospital named after Mechnikov and the municipal hospital №16. According to the program of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania the soldiers are directed to Vilnius for special rehabilitation in order to improve and full recovery of vital signs.
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Dniepropetrovsk once again realized an effective preparation and agreement of all necessary permission documents in short terms according to legislative procedures in Ukraine.
