December 7, 2015 at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine Marius Yanukonis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine has hold a meeting with the Honorary consuls of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine within the framework of exchange views on current development of Lithuania – Ukraine relations and priorities for joint effort in 2016.
During the meeting they discussed a number of topical issues of Honorary consuls in the consular-legal, commercial-economic, cultural -humanitarian and information spheres. The Ambassador acquainted the Honorary consuls with the main aspects of the new economic policy and also informed about topical areas of cooperation in different spheres of both countries.
In turn, Honorary consuls made a point of interesting and constructive opinions on important issues related to the activities of the Honorary Consulates of the Republic of Lithuania, planning of co-operative activities in different cities of Ukraine with the support of the Embassy in 2016.
In addition, there was the discussion about the Lithuanian Days celebration in Dnipropetrovsk next year. Vitaliy Pivnyak, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipropetrovsk confirmed that the Dnipropetrovsk region is going to take an active part in the festive occasions.

The delegation of Honorary Consuls of Lithuania in Ukraine visited the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where they were acquainted with a great project – reproduction of mortuary monument of Kostyantyn Ostroz`kyi, the Prince, the great Lithuanian and Ukrainian hetman in the Holy Dormition Cathedral.
