On October, 4, 2017 the issue of schools catering was discussed by Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Dnipro City Council and chairman of the investment committee of “PONTEM” group, Irmantas Norkus, as well as Plenipotentiary Minister of the Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine Gvidas Kerušauskas and Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Dnipro Vitaliy Pivnyak.
"For today, it has been done a lot in order to improve the conditions for children's education in Dnipropetrovsk region, including the material and technical base of schools and pre-school institutions. Of course, we are interested in innovative approaches to organizing pupils' nutrition," -said in the city council.
Irmantas Norkus informed that Lithuanian “PONTEM” has been operating for 20 years and occupies almost 30% of the market for organizing catering services.
"Our main consumer is schoolchildren. Last year we decided to enter the Ukrainian market and successfully started our work in Kiev. And now we would like to offer our services in Dnipro," Irmantas Norkus said.
He noted that the company also provides personnel training and product quality control. "Thanks to IT-systems, parents can see the quality and quantity of the food their children have got, how much it costs and get other information. We are striving to apply the successful Lithuanian experience of doing business, which has been acquired for many years, in Dnipro today," Irymantas Norkus said.
Vitaliy Pivnyak promised that Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Dnipro will provide all the nessesary assistance to the development of such bilateral cooperation.
