On the 11 th of May, 2014 Lithuania was elected the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Turnout at different sites ranged from 44% to 60%. Polling station visited by 58 % of voters in Vilnius and in the second largest city Kaunas – 55 % of voters.
Among the seven candidates for the presidency of the country the favorite became the acting head of state Dalia Grybauskaite, who scored 46.58 % and the candidate of the Social Democratic Party Zihmantas Balchitis that gained 13.89% of votes.
On May the 25 th, there will be the elections to the European Parliament and the second vote in the election of the President of Lithuania.
