In the morning of September 12, 2020, near the monument to the outstanding public figure, the first honorary citizen of the city Alexandr Pol, festivities devoted to celebration of the City Day took place.
Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Dnipro Vitaliy Pivnyak joined the event at the invitation of Dnipro Mayor.
Despite the fact that most of the entertainments for the City Day have been transferred on line due to quarantine restrictions, the celebrations promised to be large-scale.
“Currently, Dnipro is developing, becoming a more comfortable city, its economic and cultural potential is growing as well. They are, its inhabitants, their ability to work and their perseverance that make the difference. Today, up date projects and modern initiatives are being implemented here. Our motherland has presented Ukraine and the whole world with prominent politicians, historians, scientists and writers. Dnipro loves the supremacy, so for a good reason, the largest flag of Ukraine is flapping here until recently. May happiness and prosperity live on every street, in every home, in every family, uniting us all in a cohesive and caring community. May we all have good health, peace and generous destiny," Vitaliy Pivnyak said.
