On July 22 in Dnipro, at the intersection of Starokozatska and Fabra streets, the “Alley of Diplomats” was opened, which highlighted the establishment of Dnipro diplomatic club. The first trees – Caucasian lindens – were planted by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Joel Lyon and Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Stefan Keil. The tradition of planting trees by representatives of other countries on this alley will be continued and new trees will be planted there in the near future.
“Personally for me it is important, it coincided with the end of my term, the period of service in Dnipro city. I am glad that now it is possible to plant a tree together and leave a mark for future generations,”Mr. Keil said.
Israeli diplomat Joel Lyon considers that planting a tree is very significant. “It is not done for themselves, but for future generations. To plant a tree means to give life, because a tree absorbs carbon dioxide and gives oxygen.”
