The Republic of Lithuania continues Ukrainian children aid programme and offers for eighth students whose families moved to Dnipropetrovsk region from the ATO zone to study in an international school in the 2016/2017. 15 students, with the support and funding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, are going to have a training course at “Vilnius Home to Lithuanians”. Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipro has started preparing documents for the new group and accompanying teacher.
The intensive programme was organized including interesting leisure activities. During the year the children have visited many places and activities.

Amber Museum.
Amber is recognized as only precious stone that is mined in Lithuania. The locals often call it "Lithuanian gold", namely Baltic amber is admitted as one of the best in the world. Children were presented with opportunity to touch the ancient stones, and learn the history of its origin.

The meeting with dog specialists and representatives of "our little friends" were organized for Ukrainian class, where the children took different master classes. At the end of the meeting, students were invited to the exhibition of dogs, which was held in Vilnius Exhibition Center.

In the city's Old Town section, near the monument to Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with the Ukrainian diasporas and the children from Ukraine. The meeting went mental and warm despite the rainy weather.

The next event was the visit to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. The children have seen the rooms where fateful decisions for Lithuania were taken.

One of the exciting travels turned out to Trakai. Children got acquainted with its castle, cuisine, and also visited the museum of stone, where was a master class on making stone amulets.

The important and responsible was meeting with the Lithuanian statesman, politician, diplomat, Foreign Minister – Mr. Linas Linkevičius. Students were informed that thanks to him, the project "Training of Ukrainian class in Lithuania" was held for the second time. There was a warm and friendly meeting, with tea and sweets, where they shared their stories and experiences of staying on Lithuanian land.

The meeting with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite at the exhibition of books was also memorable. For the second year in a row students from Ukraine, had the opportunity to thank the President of friendly state for giving them a unique opportunity to study in European schools. In the end of meeting, the children were invited on a tour to the Palace of the President.

Another place that was visited by schoolchildren was Ministry of Justice of Lithuania.

The students visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania with Ukrainian Ambassador and Ukrainians residing in Vilnius, honored the memory of fallen heroes "The Heavenly Hundred".

The children had the exciting trips to the National Museum, the Cathedral, and the National Library of Vilnius University. They also visited the national radio and TV, where they had the opportunity to participate in the filming of musical and entertainment programs "Name That Tune."

Staying in Lithuania was not limited by one capital. Next city on their trip was a beautiful Kaunas, where children visited the museum of weapons, learned to bake bread, and also it was a trip to the famous Kaunas Zoo.

Hero-City Druskininkai (it is the city-hero for us, taking into account its ongoing support for the provision of rehabilitation to Ukrainian military who suffered from military operations) next has taken Ukrainian students on their land. The trip to the Aquapark was the most striking and memorable for children where they forgot about notebooks, books and homework and plunged into a fun and inflammatory atmosphere that gave them entertainment complex "Druskininkai Aqua".

It was organized the visit to the Opera and Ballet Theatre, the ice rink entertainment center "Akropolis" and famous Hedeminas tower – climbing expedition for Ukrainian students.
School year has passed quickly which has become rich, unforgettable and active.
