The Inimitable Baltic Way - a chain of 2 million people, 670 km long, connected Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia 30 years ago.

It was a peaceful protest against the partition of Europe and the occupation of the Baltic States, against a crime committed in 1939 by the leadership of Soviet USSR and Nazi Germany, who signed a secret protocol known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. According to the pact and its secret protocols, USSR and Germany divided Europe into spheres of influence: Latvia, Estonia, Finland, eastern Poland and Bessarabia were annexed to the USSR, whereas Germany received Lithuania and western Poland.

The Baltic Way proved that even after half a century of lies truth can be revived and win out. The demonstrators honored the victims of the conspiracy, perished in the war and killed in Nazi and Communist concentration camps.

On August 23 at 6 p.m, the Embassies of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia warmly invite everyone to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way on Mykhailivska Square, Kyiv. The guests will be greeted by the heads of three missions, the songs of freedom of the Baltic countries will be heard.

Main purpose of this action is to demonstrate solidarity with Ukrainian nation, necessity of the unity basing on example of Baltic states, pay the tribute to the memory of the victims of the totalitarian regime and those who died for free and European future of Ukraine.
